OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss soccer team signed nine student-athletes to a National Letter of Intent to study and play soccer at Ole Miss starting in the summer of 2012, third-year head coach Matt Mott announced Friday. In addition to the nine signees, the Rebels also received a signed written offer of admissions for Emily Wilber.

Mott on his 2012 class:
"Our 2012 recruiting class is ranked in the top-20 nationally and is one of the best in the history of Ole Miss Soccer. It's a strong class of 10 player's including one goalkeeper, four defenders, two midfielders and three forwards. We have a number of high school, club, state and national champions. In addition, there are State Players of the Year and three NSCAA high school All-Americans. I have to give a ton of credit to both my assistant coaches, Becky Fletcher and Rob Thompson, for their tireless work scouring the country to find the perfect fit both academically and athletically for Ole Miss. I think these 10 student-athletes will represent Ole Miss and the soccer program with great class and integrity on and off the field."

"Bethany is an extremely fast attacking player who is as dangerous on the flank as any player in the country. She has the ability to serve excellent crosses and is a big-time finisher. Also, a standout track athlete in Tennessee, she has been a high school Player of the Year candidate the last three years. We will look for Bethany to earn time in our forward line."

Quote about Bethany Bunker from her club coach - Mike Knowles, '94 Collierville Lady Lobos

"Bethany is a very quick, dynamic player. She can play either outside mid or as a striker. She has an excellent record when it comes to assists but also has a keen eye for goal. Bethany is one of the few players who moves as quickly with a ball as she does without."

Her toughness, leadership and ability to cover ground will certainly help us replace the loss of four-year starting defender Meredith Snow. Maddie helped carry her club team to the U.S. Youth Nationals last summer and is wise beyond her years with her ability to read the game."

Quote about Maddie Friedmann from her club coach - Tony Schmitt, Kolping Kicks

"Madeline Friedmann is an amazing young player and an even better person. She brings a phenomenal work ethic, excellent technical skill, amazing comprehension of the game and is a true winner in everything she does in life. Mad brings a winning attitude to Ole Miss and her leadership skills are second to none. Having coached Mad since she was nine years old, I am 100 percent confident that she will not only make an amazing impact on the Ole Miss soccer program but more importantly will make the Ole Miss a better place."
