Rebel Softball Falls in Pitcher's Duel, 2-0
March 11, 2018

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Behind a strong outing from Kaitlin Lee and more than solid play by the Rebel defense, Ole Miss (13-7, 0-3 SEC) kept Sunday's series finale at Texas A&M (24-3, 3-0 SEC) tight throughout but was unable to break through offensively, falling to the Aggies 2-0.

Despite a great showing in the circle, Lee was saddled with the loss. The Gulfport native allowed just five hits in the game, surrendering two runs in six complete innings.

The Rebels best chance to score came in the third inning when Paige McKinney led off the frame with a double just inside the left field foul line. However, second was as far as McKinney would get as three-straight outs for the Rebels followed.

With Lee humming along heading into the fifth inning, the Rebels were unfortunate to surrender two runs to the Aggies in the frame. Following an 11-pitch battle ending in a walk, Texas A&M registered back-to-back bloop singles and an infield base knock to bring in a pair.

The Rebels brought the tying run to the plate in the seventh after Kylan Becker legged out an infield single but Alex Schneider was punched out on a close pitch inside for the third out.

Ole Miss will remain on the road on Wednesday, travelling to Hammond, Louisiana to take on Southeastern Louisiana at 5 p.m. The game will be streamed live on
