OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss softball team could not get its offense on track Sunday afternoon at the Ole Miss Softball Complex, and fell to the No. 8 Missouri Tigers 12-0 in the series finale.
Ole Miss (18-15, 1-5 Southeastern Conference) fell behind early against the Tigers (15-2, 4-1 SEC) and could not get their bats going, as the Tigers, which have advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals in each of the last five years, threw a combined no-hitter for the win.
Missouri scored four runs in each of the first three innings to take the 12-0 lead it would hold for the remainder of the game.
The Rebels will play again Wednesday at home against Samford at 6 p.m. CT. As is the case for all Wednesday games at the Ole Miss Softball Complex, the Rebels’ game against Samford will be a Dollar Wednesday, with hot dogs and popcorn costing just $1 at the concession stand. Also on Wednesday, the first 50 fans to the park will receive one free ticket to the Ole Miss baseball team’s series finale against Texas A&M on March 24.
