Ole Miss Earns Third-Straight NCAA Bid, Selected to Tempe Regional
May 13, 2018

OXFORD, Miss. – For the third consecutive-year, Ole Miss has earned a bid to the NCAA Division I Softball Championship, being selected to the Tempe Regional, slated to begin Friday in Tempe, Arizona.

Ole Miss will be joined in the bracket by host and No. 8 national seed Arizona State as well as Long Beach State and New Mexico State. The Rebels will square off with LBSU on Friday at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN. The regional will then continue Saturday and Sunday in the double elimination format.

The winner of the Tempe Regional will advance to play the winner of the Columbia Regional in the Super Regional round May 24-27. That region features No. 9 national seed South Carolina as well as Liberty, Hofstra and UNCG.

Tickets are set to go on sale Monday evening at 7 p.m. CT through TheSunDevils.com, with a link to purchase tickets being posted to OleMissSports.com when available. All-session tickets are $35 for field level, $30 for reserved bleacher seats and $25 general admission.

Single-game tickets will also be available. Field level tickets will be priced at $12, with reserved bleacher and general admission seats available for $10 and $8, respectively.

If the Rebels and host Sun Devils face each other during the regional it will be a rematch of sorts, with Ole Miss defeating Arizona State in 2017 on the way to sweeping the Oxford Regional and advancing to the program’s first-ever Super Regional in Los Angeles.

Ole Miss made its first appearance in softball’s version of the “big dance” in 2016, earning a pair of wins before falling in the championship game to eventual national champion Oklahoma.

For the second-consecutive year a record 13-of-13 Southeastern Conference schools received a bid to the NCAA Tournament. The SEC also set an NCAA Tournament record with nine programs earning national seeds and host sites.
