STARS IN THE CLASSROOM

The Rebels have a long-standing tradition of success on the courts. Off the courts, they have been outstanding. In 2017, the Rebels received the ITA All-Academic Team Award for an unprecedented 21st consecutive year. In addition, six players were named Scholar-Athletes.

The Rebels posted a 3.41 cumulative GPA for the 2016-17 academic year and rank second for consecutive appearances on this list.

"Another great effort by the players both in the classroom as well as on the court," head coach Mark Beyers said. "This is also a reflection of the work our academic support staff puts in, especially our academic counselor Justin Light."

This award honors teams with outstanding academic achievements, requiring a minimum overall 3.2 grade point average to be considered.  The Rebels posted an impressive 3.50 cumulative team GPA for the year.

The 1997 team was one of only three teams in the nation to be named an ITA All-Academic Team and finish ranked in the top 10. The 1998 team had the highest grade point average in the nation with a 3.69. In 1999, the Lady Rebels were the only top-10 team in the nation to earn this distinction. In 2012, the Rebels were one of four teams to earn this distinction and end the year in the top 20.

The Rebels earned the ITA All-Academic Team Award for the 19th time in 2015, posting a 3.50 grade point average for the year. They were one of only 10 Division I teams to finish the year ranked in the top 25 and receive this award.
