Women's Tennis Nets Four Wins At CCLR Invitational Freshmen Earn Two Singles Victories Vs. Texas Tech

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Ole Miss women’s tennis team netted one win in doubles and three in singles on day one of the Country Club of Little Rock Collegiate Invitational Friday.
The day began with the Rebels playing doubles against Oklahoma. Iris Verboven and Paige Keating teamed up to beat OU’s Abbie Melrose and Zita Engbroks 8-4.
In the afternoon, the Rebels played singles against Texas Tech, earning three wins, including two from the freshmen. Sophomore Julia Jones downed Tech senior Elizabeth Ullathorne 6-3, 6-0. Freshman Marija Milutinovic defeated senior Sandra Dynka 6-4, 7-5, and Allie Robbins won in three sets over Sofya Malysheva, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2.
After play was complete on Friday, the Rebels helped out with a kids clinic at the club.
Play continues Saturday with doubles against Arkansas at 10 a.m. followed by singles versus Oklahoma.
