LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Ole Miss women’s tennis sophomore Mai El Kamash won twice Saturday in prequalifying at the Riviera ITA All-American Championships to advance to the final round at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.

El Kamash, ranked No. 85 in the nation, won both her matches in straight sets and is just one win away from advancing to the qualifying tournament, which begins Tuesday.  In the first round, El Kamash defeated Ebba Unden of Long Beach 6-3, 6-4.  She followed that up with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Abby Stevens of Wichita State.  El Kamash will face Romy Koelzer of Clemson in the final round Sunday.

In other singles action, juniors Julia Jones and Erin Stephens dropped their first round matches.  Jones fell to third-seeded Chanelle Van Nguyen of UCLA 6-3, 6-2, while Stephens lost to Ratnika Batra of Texas 6-2, 6-4.

Jones and El Kamash teamed up in doubles, but lost to Lilly Kimbell and Mia King of Georgia 8-2.
