PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - A couple of three-setters ended the Rebels' bid to advance to the main draw in singles at the Riviera All-American Championships Tuesday at the Riviera Country Club.

Playing some of the top players in the nation, both Caroline Rohde-Moe and Mai El Kamash were eliminated in qualifying singles, while Iris Verboven and Erin Stephens lost in the opening round of doubles.

El Kamash, ranked No. 85 in singles, won her first round match, defeating 69th-ranked Clementina Riobueno of Miami 6-3, 6-3 before losing a tough three-setter to one of the nation's top players, Cal's Klara Fabikova.  Fabikova is ranked No. 23 and seeded No. 4 in the draw.  After dropping the first set 6-4, El Kamash battled back to take the second set 6-1 before falling 7-5 in the third.

Rohde-Moe, ranked No. 39 in the nation, lost a three-setter to Vanderbilt's 51st-ranked Lauren Mira.  After losing the first set 6-2, Rohde-Moe took the second set in a tiebreaker, 7-6(3), to force a third set, but Mira answered in the third 6-3 for the win.  Later in the day, Rohde-Moe defeated 57th-ranked Andrea Ka of San Francisco in consolation play, 6-3, 6-3.

Rohde-Moe and Marija Milutinovic will be competing in the main draw doubles, which begins Thursday.
