-- After a win against Yale this past Sunday to close out play at the ITA National Team Indoor, the No. 15 Ole Miss women’s tennis team will host Lipscomb this Friday at 1 p.m. in their home opener at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center.

Admission is free to the match and fans can pick up a poster of junior Natalie Suk at the marketing table. Last year, Suk clinched the win over Tennessee in the first round of the SEC Championship, which helped the Rebels earn their eighth straight NCAA appearance. This year, she helped the Rebels advance to the National Team Indoor Championships with a big win at No. 2 singles against LSU.

Recapping National Team Indoor…
The Rebels went 1-2 at the National Team Indoor last weekend, losing two close matches to No. 5 Oklahoma State and No. 10 Georgia Tech and then downing Yale on the final day of play. They swept Yale in doubles and then won all six first sets in singles on their way to a 4-0 victory. Arianne Hartono improved to 10-6 overall, 5-3 at No. 1 singles after clinching the win.

Scouting Lipscomb…
Lipscomb is coming off of a 4-0 loss to Western Kentucky last weekend. The Bisons defeated Belmont for their lone win of the year. They are led by sophomore Viktoriya Dzyuba at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles.

Rebels vs. Bisons…
The Rebels last played Lipscomb in 2014 and won 7-0.

Ranking the Rebels…
In this week’s USTA Collegiate Tennis Rankings, the Rebels are tied for 15th. In the latest ITA Rankings, the Rebels are ranked No. 18. In the latest ITA singles rankings, junior All-American Hartono is ranked No. 58 in singles and teams with Anna Vrbenska for a No. 33 ranking in doubles.

Thoughts from head coach Mark Beyers…
“After playing our first nine matches on the road, we are excited for our home opener. The girls are excited to play in front of our fans for the next four matches. The weather looks nice Friday, and we would like to encourage anyone coming up for baseball opening day to come check us out before the game.”
