Live Scoring

OXFORD, Miss –
With their highest ranking in program history, the No. 3-ranked Ole Miss women’s tennis team will begin a four-match homestand this weekend hosting Lipscomb and Stephen F. Austin in their final non-conference matches.

Friday, the Rebels welcome Lipscomb at 2 p.m., and then Saturday host Stephen F. Austin at 12 p.m.

Both matches are scheduled to be played outside at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center, weather permitting. In case of inclement weather, they will be played indoors at the Ole Miss Indoor Tennis Center.

Last Time Out…
The Rebels improved to 7-1 on the season with a 4-0 win at Baylor last Saturday in Waco. Ole Miss won the doubles point with wins at three and one, and then got singles wins from Natalie Suk, Anna Vrbenska and Sabina Machalova to close out the Lady Bears.

Scouting Lipscomb...
Lipscomb comes into Friday’s match with a 3-6 overall record and coming off a 4-2 loss to Western Kentucky. The Bisons have wins against Western Carolina, Belmont and North Florida.  Lipscomb is led by 2017 Atlantic-Sun Player of the Year Viktoriya Dzyuba.

Rebels vs. Bisons…
The Rebels shut out Lipscomb 7-0 last year in their home opener, claiming the doubles point and all singles matches in straight sets.

Scouting Stephen F. Austin…
Stephen F. Austin is still looking for their first win after a 4-3 loss to Northeastern State last Sunday. The Ladyjacks are comprised of one junior and the rest freshmen and sophomores.

Rebels vs. Ladyjacks…
This will be the first meeting between Ole Miss and SFA.

Rebels Make History in Rankings…
In the first computer Oracle/ITA Ranking released Wednesday, the Rebels (7-1) earned a program-high No. 3 ranking. The Rebels are the highest ranked SEC team in the nation. In the USTA Top 25, the Rebels are ranked No. 8. The ITA also announced the latest individual rankings. Senior Arianne Hartono is up to No. 16 in singles and teams with Alexa Bortles for a No. 10 ranking in doubles. Junior Tea Jandric moved up to No. 58 in singles and freshman Sabina Machalova is ranked No. 115 in singles and No. 45 in doubles with Natalie Suk.

Courtside with Head Coach Mark Beyers
“It has definitely been a fantastic start to the season. The ladies have worked so hard in practice and earned some great wins against top teams away from Oxford. We are looking forward to playing our next four matches at home, beginning this weekend with Lipscomb and Stephen F. Austin.”
