OXFORD, Miss. - Caroline Rohde-Moe of the nationally ranked Ole Miss women's tennis team and graduate athletic trainers Ben Angle and Karah Sims were presented their degrees in a special graduation ceremony Monday afternoon at the FedEx Academic Success Center.
The special ceremony was held to honor the three, who were out of town this past weekend competing and or working with the Ole Miss men's and women's tennis teams at the NCAA Championships.
Rohde-Moe helped the Rebels advance to the second round of the NCAA Championships with a 4-3 win over Texas Tech. Angle was in South Bend, Indiana as the graduate athletic trainer for the men's tennis team, who also advanced to the second round. Sims was the women in Los Angeles, California.
Chancellor Dan Jones was on hand to present each graduate with their diploma. Several academic deans were on hand as well, including Dr. Ken Cyree, Dean of the School of Business Administration and Douglass Sullivan-González, Dean of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, who recognized Rohde-Moe for her outstanding achievements in the classroom. Rohde-Moe graduated with honors in three and a half years with degrees in Managerial Finance and Economics as well as graduating from the Honors College.
Prior to receiving her diploma, Chancellor Jones presented Rohde-Moe with a Taylor Medal, the highest academic honor at the University of Mississippi, awarded to students in the top one percent of their school.
In addition, Rohde-Moe was named to Who's Who Among Universities and Colleges, a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, a finalist for this year's SEC Boyd McWhorter Postgraduate Scholarship and is a candidate for the Capital One Academic All-District Team.
