OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss volleyball team signed four student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to study and play volleyball at Ole Miss starting in the summer of 2013, Rebels head coach Joe Getzin announced Friday.

Getzin on his 2013 class:
"This is a very exciting class for us. We lose seven seniors from this year's team, so this class coming in has a lot of roles that we need filled. This is a class that can step in and compete as freshmen right from the get-go. They're probably one of the most experienced groups that we've brought in, and probably one of the most decorated as far as winning awards for their achievements already."

Quote about Kristen Brashear from Ole Miss head coach Joe Getzin

"Kristen comes to us from Louisville, Ky. She'll be coming in as a defensive specialist/libero. We're very excited about her athleticism and the way she competes. She's a very competitive kid and we're looking forward to working with that type of attitude that she brings to the court. I've already watched her play middle blocker in club, and while she's not a middle blocker, you couldn't tell that by the way she went about her business. She'll throw everything out on the floor each and every point. We're looking forward to that."

Quote about Melanie Crow from Ole Miss head coach Joe Getzin

"Melanie is from St. Louis, Mo. She won a second state championship – they didn't lose a set all season and Melanie was a big part of the success that team had. Melanie is about a 6-1 right side attacker. She's a crafty player who can hit any shot in the book and will get a lot of kills for us. We're looking for her to come in and compete for playing time right away. We think she is a player that can help us immediately."

Quote about Melanie Crow from her high school coach - Zach Young, Lafayette High School

"Mel is one of the best blockers and hardest hitters to come through our high school program. She was unstoppable at the state tournament and is a huge reason we were able to repeat as state champions this year. Melanie is a great leaper, and can take the second ball without hesitation. She could be a setter on a lot of teams. We look for Melanie to do great things at Ole Miss."

Quote about Aubrey Edie from Ole Miss head coach Joe Getzin

"Aubrey just got named second team All-American. She's our first All-American recruit. Also, this summer she played on the USA Junior National A2 team, which is quite an honor to get picked to that. While she was there, she proved to be one of the best setters in the country. We're really excited about what she brings to the table. She just won a state championship and was named MVP of the tournament. And the great thing about Aubrey is she's so humble about all of those awards and keeps working hard. She's about 6-1, long length. Each time I see her she seems a little bit taller. She's going to bring a dimension, size wise, that we haven't had here in quite some time."

Quote about Aubrey Edie from her club coach - Jenny Lingenfelter, Ozark Juniors

"Aubrey is one of the best athletes I have had the privilege of coaching. She is definitely one of the best setters coming out of our program, not only because of her skills, but also because of her work ethic, leadership skills, focus and self-motivation. Her athleticism, knowledge, and passion for the game will definitely help the Rebels achieve their goals and be one of the best teams in the SEC. I am very excited she chose Ole Miss, and I believe she will be a great asset to their program. I look forward to seeing her grow at Ole Miss."
