Bugg, a native of Morrisville, North Carolina, earned 2017 Under Armour All-America Honorable Mention honors and was named a Senior Ace by PrepVolleyball.com. As captain of her team at Cardinal Gibbons High School, she helped lead them to the 2015 State Championship.

Playing for Triangle Volleyball Club, which ranked No. 19 in 2017, Bugg made the AAU 16 Open All-America Team.

“We are really excited to have Avery become part of our program,” McRoberts said. “She comes from a volleyball family and has a really high volleyball IQ. We love her range on the floor defensively, she has good ball control and is a high energy player. Avery has won a lot, especially at the club level with Triangle Volleyball Club. She is someone that will help us keep moving forward with the culture that we’re building here at Ole Miss.”

Off the court, Bugg has made the honor roll every semester and is a member of the National Honor Society.

As McRoberts noted, Bugg comes from a volleyball family. Her mom played at Tennessee and her sister played at Stanford and was named the Pac-12 Setter of the Year in 2015 as a senior.

Joining a roster full of Texas natives, Puddy (Dallas) will become the seventh member from Texas this fall.

Puddy helped lead Bishop Lynch High School to state titles in 2015 and 2016 and runner-up in 2017. Captain of her team, she was named to the AVCA Under Armour Phenom List in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Puddy earned second-team All-District honors in 2016 and honorable mention in 2017.

A member of Skyline Club, she helped them qualify for the nationals open division from 2012-2017.

“We are happy to add Hannah to our team this fall,” McRoberts said. “She captained her high school team earning All-District honors, and has played competitive club volleyball since she was 11 for Skyline Juniors. She’s a hard worker, she loves Ole Miss and I am confident that she will add a lot to our program not only this fall but in the future.”

Off the court, Puddy has earned numerous honors. In 2015, Puddy was named to the All-State Academic Team and received the Bishop Lynch MIP Award. She is a member of the National Spanish Honor Society, the National Math Honor Society, the National History Honor Society and a member of the Honor Roll and Mu Alpha Theta.

Puddy’s father played basketball at SMU and professionally for 10 years overseas in Spain, France, Switzerland and Japan.

Bugg and Puddy join fall signees Aubrey Sultemeier (enrolled in January) and Lauren Thompson to make up the 2018 class.
