Quick Hits…
• The Rebels went 2-1 last week with a 3-0 win at Northern Colorado and a split of two matches against South Alabama. Ole Miss lost a close 3-2 match to the Jaguars Friday night and then posted a 3-1 win Saturday.
• Senior outside hitter Lexi Thompson set the career record for kills (1,203) in the rally era in the win over South Alabama. She now owns the single-season (437) and career records.
•Sophomore right side Emily Stroup had a solid week, averaging 3.83 kills per set and a .385 attack percentage. In the second match against South Alabama, Stroup tallied 20 kills on a season-high .432 clip, in a 3-1 win. The 20 kills is one off her career-high of 21 set earlier this year. Stroup led all players with 23.0 points in the match. She also had two service aces.
•Sophomore middle blocker Nayo Warnell recorded a career-best 11 kills with no errors on a .550 attack percentage and had 2 solo blocks and 2 block assists in the win over South Alabama.
Lexi Thompson owns the career record (43) at Ole Miss and a SEC-leading nine double-doubles this season. Kate Gibson is tied with Thompson with nine, after posting two last weekend.
• The Rebels rank second in the SEC in digs per set at 17.29 and fourth in the SEC in opponent hitting percentage (.156).
• Several Rebels rank among the league leaders in various categories. Lexi Thompson ranks 10th (3.33) in kills per set. Caroline Adams ranks sixth in the SEC in digs per set (4.08), Nayo Warnell ranks seventh in hitting percentage (.362) and Emily Stroup ranks ninth in points per set (3.76).

Scouting Auburn…
Auburn enters SEC play at 7-2 after a close 3-2 loss to No. 20 Florida State last Saturday. Just like the Rebels, the Tigers’ final non-conference weekend got changed. Auburn was scheduled to go to Miami for a tournament, but instead traveled to Tallahassee for the match against Florida State. The Tigers are led by sophomore Gwyn Jones, who averages 2.85 kills per set. She tallied a career-high 19 kills against Florida State. Sophomore Shaina White ranks second in the SEC with a .476 hitting percentage.

Rebels vs. Tigers…
Ole Miss leads the all-time series with Auburn 34-28, but the Tigers have won three straight, all in five sets.

Looking at Alabama…
Alabama comes into the opening weekend of SEC play 11-2. They are coming off a three-set sweep over Troy to win the Crimson-White Tournament last weekend, extending their current win streak to eight matches. Senior Leah Lawrence leads the Tide with 130 kills and a .374 hitting percentage. She was named to the Crimson-White All-Tournament team along with sophomores Haley McSparin and Ginger Perinar. McSparin averages 1.13 blocks per set.

Rebels vs. Tide…
Alabama leads the series 44-22, but the Rebels have won four of the last five meetings, including a 3-1 victory in Oxford last year. The only loss in that span came in Tuscaloosa last year, 3-2.
