Springer Named SEC Defensive Player Of The Week

OXFORD, Miss. – Senior libero Morgan Springer was named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week after helping her team pick up a 3-1 win over Alabama, the league office announced on Monday.

The win closed out the season for the Rebels who split the season series with the Crimson Tide and won six of 10 matches down the stretch to finish off the 2011 campaign.

Springer averaged 6.25 digs per set against the Crimson Tide, coming up with 25 digs to lead the Rebels to the win over Alabama. It was her fifth match with more than 20 digs on the season and marked the 24th double-digit dig performance of the season for Springer.
