NFL Rebels Update: Week 2

OXFORD, Miss. – Here at OleMissSports.com, we are proud to update Rebel fans on the status of our former players who lace up their cleats on Sundays in the NFL. 

Sixteen former Rebels played in Week 2. On defense, Princely Umanmielen of the Carolina Panthers was able to get to Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray for his first career sack. Baltimore Ravens linebacker Tavius Robinson secured six total tackles in a 41-17 victory against the Cleveland Browns, including a strip sack that led to a 64-yard return touchdown. 
 
In Pittsburgh, DK Metcalf, the Steelers' wide receiver, followed up on his 83-yard Week One performance with his first touchdown of the season this week. Elijah Moore, Buffalo Bills wide receiver, took a handoff and scored from four yards out, his first rushing touchdown since his rookie season in 2021.

Secured two solo tackles along with one pass defended in a Thursday Night Football matchup with the Green Bay Packers. 

#11 A.J. Brown | WR | Philadelphia Eagles
In a Super Bowl rematch with the Chiefs, Brown hauled in five catches for 27 yards in a 20-17 win for Philadelphia.
 
#77 Ben Brown | OL | New England Patriots
Played five snaps on special teams in a 33-27 win against the Miami Dolphins.

 #6 Jaxson Dart | QB | New York Giants
Played three snaps in a loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week Two.

#1 Evan Engram | TE | Denver Broncos
Hauled in one catch for 12 yards in Week Two.

#9 Tre Harris | WR | Los Angeles Chargers
Hauled in two catches for 34 yards in a win against the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football.

#18 Malik Heath | WR | Green Bay Packers
Secured one tackle on special teams and hauled in one catch for 37 yards in a 27-18 win against the Commanders.

#51 Jared Ivey | LB | Seattle Seahawks
Did not play Week Two.

#94 Benito Jones | DT | Miami Dolphins
Did not play in Week Two.

#93 D.J. Jones | DT | Denver Broncos
Secured one solo tackle in a loss to the Colts.

#33 Jaylon Jones | CB | Chicago Bears
Secured one tackle on special teams in Week Two.

#88 Dawson Knox | TE | Buffalo Bills
Started at tight end, caught two catches for 19 yards in a 30-10 win against the New York Jets.

#4 D.K. Metcalf | WR | Pittsburgh Steelers 
Caught three passes for 20 yards, including this 2-yard TD pass to take a 14-7 lead before halftime.
 

#8 Elijah Moore | WR | Buffalo Bills
Started at receiver, snagged one catch for 31 yards, and also had a four-yard rushing touchdown.

#92 JJ Pegues | DT | Las Vegas Raiders
Did not play in Week Two.

#95 Tavius Robinson | OLB | Baltimore Ravens
Started at linebacker, secured six total tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss, and a forced fumble. 

#78 Laremy Tunsil | OT | Washington Commanders
Started at left tackle, playing all 69 offensive snaps in Week Two. Tunsil’s 84.8 PFF pass blocking grade ranks fifth in the league amongst tackles. 

#33 Princely Umanmielen | LB | Carolina Panthers
Hauled in one solo tackle, which was a sack of Cardinals QB Kyler Murray for a loss of nine yards.

#17 Jordan Watkins | WR | San Francisco 49ers
Did not play in Week Two.

#54 Sam Williams | DE | Dallas Cowboys
Secured one tackle in a 40-37 win against the divisional rival New York Giants.
